Met andere woorden: \u00e9\u00e9n kilovolt is gelijk aan 1000 V.<\/p>\n<p> Het symbool voor kilovolt is <strong>kV<\/strong> . De afkorting voor kilovolt bestaat dus uit het voorvoegselsymbool <em>kilo-<\/em> en het symbool volt. In de techniek worden kilovolts bijvoorbeeld vaak gebruikt om spanningen uit te drukken in elektrische circuits die op hoog vermogen werken.<\/p>\n<p> Het verschil tussen kilovolt en kilowatt is dus dat kilovolt een eenheid van elektrische spanning is, terwijl kilowatt een eenheid van elektrisch vermogen is.
