Se la densit\u00e0 \u00e8 inferiore a 1, significa che il materiale gallegger\u00e0 nell&#8217;acqua. Ma se la densit\u00e0 \u00e8 maggiore di 1, il materiale scorrer\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p> In ingegneria, questa propriet\u00e0 di densit\u00e0 viene utilizzata per dimensionare correttamente le pompe centrifughe.<\/p>\n<p> Allo stesso modo, geologi e mineralogisti utilizzano il peso specifico per determinare il contenuto minerale di una roccia o di un altro campione.
