Dengan kata lain, BTU adalah satuan yang menyatakan jumlah panas yang dapat diekstraksi oleh AC.<\/p>\n<p> Meskipun unit jenis ini lebih umum digunakan sebelumnya, BTU masih digunakan di Amerika Serikat atau bahkan di beberapa dokumen asal Inggris. Namun saat ini, unit ini sudah tidak digunakan lagi.<\/p>\n<p> Secara ilmiah, BTU didefinisikan sebagai jumlah panas yang harus disuplai untuk menaikkan suhu satu derajat Fahrenheit dari satu pon air cair pada tekanan konstan satu atmosfer.
